Annual 19 is going to press

Posted by: |

The 3x3 International Illustration Annual No. 19 is going to the printer. The 464-page, softcover book features the medalists and winners in this year's show along with a list of a our honorable mention selections. And if all goes well, we should be able to put the Annual in the mail by early December as scheduled.

Moving towards more normal times, this year’s winners were stronger than ever. Our jury viewed 6,100 images from forty-eight countries and one hundred-two schools before selecting the 2022 winners. Fifty-six percent of our merit and medalists were from outside the United States, helping once again to establish us as a truly international show.

Congratulations to our Best of Show, Owen Davey, and to this year’s Gary Powell Student Illustrator honoree Peilin Li, and to all our winners. We’re delighted to honor Syracuse University’s Marty Blake, as our Educator/Illustrator of the Year.

And a special thank you to our jury which included Noël Claro, Product Creative Studio Strategist, Netflix; Christine Foltzer, Art Director, Tor Books; Marta Madureira, Illustrator, Portugal; Sergiy Maidukov, art director/Illustrator, Ukraine; Corinne Myller, Art Director, Special Sections, The New York Times; Feifei Ruan, Illustrator; Birthe Steinbeck, Art Director, Süddeutsche Zeitung Magazin, Germany; Andrea Ucini, Illustrator, Denmark and Armando Veve, Illustrator.
